The Venue: El Jaral de la Mira
A serene setting where memories are (not so) quietly crafted 💃🕺
A Place in Time
El Jaral de la Mira is a place steeped in history. Its territory was part of the Royal Parks or Forests of His Majesty in the times of Philip II, housed a mill or weapons house, and was integrated into the historic project of the construction of the Royal Site. Many years later, it would become the property of great families. Today, under the stewardship of the Sandoval family, it has been transformed into a 120-hectare haven at the gates of El Escorial, in the heart of the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park, just 50 kilometers from Madrid.
The estate is populated with pines, holm oaks, oaks, junipers, and rock roses, traversed by water courses and streams. What was once a storage warehouse for tools is now an event hall, presided over by wood and glass, fully integrated into the natural environment of the estate.
A Green Philosophy
This philosophy is at the heart of El Jaral de la Mira. The estate is not just a venue; it's a global project of biodynamic architecture directly linked to Coque: A family-run restaurant by Mario Sandoval. Through the Agrolab initiative, it serves as a research and recovery center for native species, both vegetable and animal.
From the estate come blue sea tomatoes, cherry gargamel, tear peas, summer wonder lettuces, asparagus, calçots, eggs, and meats that end up in Coque's dishes and in the catering served at weddings and events on the estate.
